Seminars
12/28/04 The Great Commission Story by Martindale and Clark 16.3Mb
Three men who were there will recount the daring adventure of launching a movement to reach the world. Lessons of faith, vision, humility, love, an devotion will be shared, along with practical application.
12/28/04 Growing Your Heart For God by Chris Biang 14.9Mb
Chris will be sharing his journey of the heart. The topic will be Great Commission-oriented with similar discussions as in the books Waking the Dead and Wild at Heart.
This seminar will be useful in helping us see how we are wired and why we do the things we do. The goal will be to gain a soft heart for God.
12/28/04 The Relevance of Creation by Tim Borseth 16.0Mb
More than once I've heard Christians announce, "I fell like I've been born again again" (or something to that affect) after hearing a message on the accuracy of Genesis 1 and 2 and the scientific
credibility of creation science. Why is this subject such a big deal? Isn't it simply a minor side issue? Isn't it something that only scientists argue about?
Find out why the topic of creation evolution is of ultimate importance to our faith and why it's critical that we never compromise on it.
12/28/04 The Road Less Traveled by Rich Thatcher 11.0Mb
In this day and age, divorce and infidelity are rampant. A broken heart is not an uncommon experience. Today's marriages are falling apart almost as fast as they start. The
divorce rate for Christians is almost no different than non-Christians! Do you want different results in your marriage than everybody else? Are you going about your relationships with the opposite sex
any differently than everybody else, even other Christians? Are you preparing yourself for a marriage that will stand the test of time? Are you willing to take the road less traveled?
We will look at insight from the Bible on how to live wholeheartedly for Jesus Christ and the Great Commission as a young single person while preparing a foundation for a lasting marriage.
We will rediscover the lost secrets of guarding your heart, not playing favorites, and trusting God for your mate.
12/28/04 Walking in Sexual Freedom by Tom Short 17.2Mb
The "Sexual Revolution" that began in the 60's has wreaked havoc upon our nation and let many people confused as to what is right and wrong concerning sex.
The seminar will explore God's perspective on sex and equip you with answers to the arguments of moral relativists and others who seek to seduce you from a life of purity in following Christ.
If time permits, we will also discover practical steps you can take to experience victory over sexual temptations.
12/28/04 We Lead From Our Hearts by Berk Wilson 12.8Mb
Over the years, we learn leadership skill, Bible study skills, ministry skills and people skills. But ultimately, everyone leads from their heart. Unfortunately, many never discover how to examine their heart and slowly fade
from being effective in services to our King. As I have gotten older, people are telling me to look out for my physical health. But I have also taken more time to consider the state of my heart. Just as I
can look healthy on the outside, but be falling apart on the inside, so also I can give the appearance that all is well with my soul, while crumbling inside. I believe that there are three, perhaps four questions that need
to be asked consistently if we want to continue to serve and lead others into the presence of our Lord. Through this seminar I want to leave you with those questions so you too can keep your soul healthy and in step with the Spirit of God.
12/28/04 The World at Your Kitchen Table: Starting an International Student Ministry in Your Church
by Jim Wiebelhaus 15.7Mb
This seminar is for anyone who either wants to investigate the possibility of starting an ISM in their church or is already involved in an ISM and wants to learn how to help it grow.
12/29/04 Becoming a Band of Brothers (and Sisters) by Bill Cowell 13.6Mb
In sixteen years of schooling, we learn how to make money, not use it - and how to use friends, not make them. What does it take to develop good friendships? reaching the world for Christ -- and finishing strong in life --
will depend on running the race with a few faithful brothers and sisters! What does that mean to me?
12/29/04 Battle of the World Views by Tom Short 16.5Mb
Our nation is becoming increasingly divided along idealogical lines, with Christianity being "ground zero" of this controversy. This seminar will take a look at some of these issues and ask what can be done about
them. We'll also explore career options to consider for those who want to be "salt for the Lord" in our culture.
12/29/04 Dealing with Your Past by Dave Bovenmyer 14.3Mb
This seminar is about the importance of facing past hurts in order to view them from God's perspective. It covers how to deal with anger and bitterness toward God and toward those who
have hurt us. Many compulsive behaviors such as eating disorders, alcoholism, depression, uncontrollable anger, etc. are rooted in unresolved issues from our past.
These are Biblical issues, not something imported from secular psychology.
12/29/04 Living Beyond Circumstances by Andy Gray 14.9Mb
Is your relationship with God just a smattering of short-lived highs in the midst of general indifference or discouragement? Tired of feeling like circumstances determine your level of joy? Come discover the source of enjoying
God for a lifetime, whatever your circumstances. It may be the most freeing and exhilarating experience of your Christian life!
12/29/04 Losing the Premarriage Jitters by Chris and Virginia Biang 14.6Mb
The Biangs will carry on a dialogue about their experiences before getting married. Each will share their story with "real inside information" about their fears, hopes, disappointments and the final results of a faith-filled process. A question
and answer session will occur at the end of the seminar.
12/29/04 SWERVER Making the most of Being Single by Bill Young 15.5Mb
Definition: swerve (swurv) v. "To turn aside or be turned aside from a straight course." Life is short -- it's time to return to our pure devotion to Christ, unhindered by the pressures and nuances of living the "Classic Dating"
model (dating like the world). I believe the "classic" dating model can easily "swerve" us into a course we do not want to go. Could God have a better plan, a plan for fruitfulness as a single and confidence in marrying
the right person without compromising your biblical convictions, without showing partiality? I say YES He does?
12/29/04 Bridging the Generation Gap by Whitney and Thatcher 11.7Mb
This is a seminar for anyone who has grown up in a home and is involved in a church where the different age groups all come together. Sometimes you want to be apart, sometimes you want to be together.
A part of you wants to be totally different than your parents. And another part wants to be just like them. this kind of sums up the tension, doesn't it? We will be talking about bridging the gap between the generations and why we need to do this.
We will talk about practical ways to do this, in our homes in our churches.
12/29/04 Calling All Risk Takers by Berk Wilson 12.4Mb
Everyone is a risktaker, but are we risking for the rewards that will last? We have heard teachings on how to be good stewards of our gifts, our talents, our treasures, but what about being good stewards of our faith?
This past summer a few of us from NC State took a risk and moved down to Wilmington, NC for the summer. We wanted to see what you hear from this seminar will motivate you to take more risks for the gospel and help advance the kingdom.
12/29/04 Raising Up An Army by Tim Borseth 16.1Mb
There is a difference between a campus ministry that, for all essential purposes, "baby sits" Christians and one that inspires such a radical devotion and commitment that those involved enlist in the army of God. After 14
years of full time campus work at Iowa State, I've seen our ministry while it was thriving, suffering, rebuilding, and multiplying. Find out some of the key principles I've learned along the way about how to build and army of believers
that can actually, genuinely take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
12/29/04 The Secret of Success by Tom Dunham 11.0Mb
Wouldn't it be great if we could find one key - the master key - that would open doors of opportunity and assure us of success like we've never imagined?
God has given us just such a key! Join us to discover this key and how to make it open doors of success and blessing for you. And you will be treated to a "life story" by Joseph Dunham.
12/29/04 Someday My Prince will Come... Won't He? by Mary Knox 16.3Mb
Waiting on the Lord for a husband can be one of the most grueling trials a woman can go through. God has a lot He wants to teach you during this waiting time. Come hear a biblical perspective on this character developing arena of your life.
12/29/04 Time Warp by Matt Gordon 13.4Mb
Do you feel like time is flying by at warp speed and you are just stuck in first gear? This seminar is designed to help you maintain a schedule based on your priorities. Be ready for 2005!
12/29/04 What does My Guy Really Really Want by Neva Whitney 12.7Mb
Sometimes what a husband wants out of marriage, is not what a wife thinks he wants or needs. After thirty-one years of marriage I occasionally get a glimpse of what my husband wants. All men would like a little respect,
but what about those other areas? We will talk about these areas and follow it up with a Q&A time. (for married women only!)
