Complete prior to event:
- Find the best price for skiing. Here are some web pages for different ski resorts:
- Make a flyer to put in the bulletin for people to return if they are interested in coming. The flyer should ask for the following:
- name
- email
- phone number
- time they can leave
- if they can drive and if so, how many people they can take
Wisdom gained from previously organizing event:
- Line up housing if you don't want to be driving to and from the ski slopes the same day you go skiing. We were able to stay with the NLCF church at VT in a place called Zack's Place for free. Call Jim Pace to get it organized.
- WinterPlace (and several other slopes) have deals for students/university staff, but you must present a student id to get the discount. Therefore, tell everyone to bring their student ids and ask for the discount.
- The last time we went skiing, the best deals from ski slopes in Virginia/West Virginia were from WinterPlace.
- Bring food (meals and snacks) to eat so that prices can be as cheap as possible.
