Complete prior to the praise and worship night:
- Decide where to have event (indoor or outdoor) and what date to do it.
- Reserve a room or area for the desired night.
- Advertise for the event two weeks before the event is going to happen. Ed should be contacted about the event going in the announcement section of the bulletin.
- Ask someone to bring communion stuff - bread, red grape juice and nice glass/goblet for the juice.
- Make sure the following items are being brought by someone:
- laptop with songs on it (and ask someone will run power point presentation)
- projector
- extension cords
- screen to display projector image
- microphone and stand
- amps and speakers and wires...
- Figure out which of the above items need to be brought - this is dependent on where the praise and worship night will be held.
Do the day of the praise and worship night:
- Get supplies from the church storage shed and the church van 2 hours before the event starts.
- The church has a red table cloth that can be used for the communion table.
- Setup the laptop, projector, screen to display projector image, amps, speakers, microphone...
Wisdom gained from previously organizing praise and worship nights:
- If it is warm enough outside, a great place to do the event is in the field behind Talley.
- If it is getting cold, then some good rooms to look into reserving are (in a loose order of preference):
- Bragaw Activity Room
- Talley Walnut Room
- 126 Witherspoon Student Center - the multi-purpose room
- Talley 3118
- Williams 2215
- Williams 1404
- Carmichael 2015
- In the Bragaw Activity Room, we put the screen in the corner of the room where the two glass walls come together. We moved all the tables and chairs and brought our own lamps and lights to add to the ambiance of the room. It was one of the best praise and worship times we have had.
- If in the Bragaw Activity Room, it would be a good idea to put up some Grace signs saying we are doing a praise and worship night.
