- What do you think God wants?
- What do the following verses tell us that God wants, desires or what His will is?
- John 4:23
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
- 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8
- 1 Timothy 2:3-4
- Matthew 16:18
- Psalm 51:6
- According to Ephesians 6:10-14, if we are to stand firm and not be deceived what part of the spiritual armor are we to first put on in our lives?
- How would you describe your desire to have truth in your inmost being and as the foundation of your choices? (Are you being truthful?)
- How would you say people choose what is important to them?
- How would you respond to the following statements?
- Truth is found in whatever works or brings the best results.
- Truth is found in good intentions.
- Truth is found as a matter of perspective, therefore truth is relative, there are no moral absolutes.
- Truth is found in what feels right or good.
- What guidelines or criteria are there to determine truth?
Truthfulness is earning future trust by accurately reporting past facts. Truth is telling it like it is. Statements must match the real facts as they actually are in the real world versus what we perceive them to be or what we want them to be.
- The Process of Discerning Truth. Do a person's words match what really happened? In other words, do eyewitness accounts match findings? Consider Jesus' claim to be the Messiah and rise from the dead. Do the eyewitness accounts match the claim and event? Is it true or false that Jesus claimed to be Messiah and rise from the dead?
