Jesus is our Savior because he is the Lord. He is both Lord and Savior. Most people would like to be saved from the power of sin and the judgment of hell. As we trust Jesus as Lord we will be saved.
  1. According to Romans 10;9, what are two things we need to do in order to be saved from the power of sin and the judgment of hell?

Salvation, freedom, from the penalty and power of sin is not available apart from Lordship. Lordship does not mean that salvation depends on us being perfect. Instead, Lordship is the attitude of complete surrender and obedience to Jesus Christ.

  2. Compare and contrast the lives of Saul and Abraham. How would you describe their attitude of Lordship and obedience to God?
    1. Saul - 1 Samuel 15

    2. Abraham - Genesis 22:1-12
  3. In Acts 2:36, what did Peter proclaim about Jesus?
  4. According to Paul in Philippians 2:6-11, who is Jesus that we should bow our knee and surrender to him as Lord?
    • vs 6
    • vs 7
    • vs 8
    • vs 9
    • vs 10
    • vs 11
  5. According to Colossians 2;6, how should we receive Jesus Christ?
  6. In Luke 6:46, what did Jesus say to those who would not obey him?
  7. According to Matthew 26:21-25, what was the difference in how Judas saw Jesus compared to how the other disciples saw Jesus?
  8. According to Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23, who will enter the kingdom of heaven?
